Mr. Clyde Jefferson Umphlett, Jr., son of Clyde Jefferson Umphlett, Sr. & Sara Margaret Mann Umphlett, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Elbert Memorial Hospital in Elberton, Georgia. Jeff was the grandson of Gaither Clayton & Maggie Frances Abernathy Mann. Here is Jeff's obituary as listed on the Hicks Funeral Home web site —

Mr. Clyde Jefferson Umphlett, Jr. age 60 of Tanglewood Drive, Elberton, passed away Thursday; May 17, 2012 at Elbert Memorial Hospital.

A native of Suffolk, Virginia, he was the son of the late Sara Margaret and Clyde Jefferson Umphlett, Sr.

Clyde was a veteran of the United States Army.

Suvivors include a daughter, Jenna Marie Umphlett, a granddaughter Autum Marie Wilson both of Toccoa and a brother Rebel (Myrna) Umphlett of Raleigh, NC.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
